Sponsored by Maine Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to reduce the impact of cancer in Maine, this comprehensive Cancer Blueprint is designed to:

We are taking a phased approach to the Cancer Blueprint, honing in on one specific cancer during each phase. The primary focus for Phase 1 was a deep dive into lung cancer, though insights for colorectal cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, and prostate cancer were also developed. Phase 2 focused on colorectal cancer. Phase 3 is currently underway in 2025 with a focus on breast cancer.
Human Service Research Institute
The Human Services Research Institute’s (HSRI) Population Health Team builds data systems to collect, analyze, and report health care data to improve the quality of health information available for research, policy, and practice. The team supported MCF in identifying and creating measures, examining how social determinants of health impact outcomes, and developing this interactive tool to report cancer incidence, screening rates, access to care, treatment, and mortality across Maine.

With Gratitude
The Maine Cancer Blueprint launch was made possible by generous financial support from the Benoit Family Foundation and then a matching grant from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (a Point32Health company). Including unwavering collaboration with MHDO, the diligent dedication of HSRI, and the enthusiastic commitment of MCF staff, Board, and Advisory Group, who generously shared their time and expertise.
We’re deeply grateful to invest in our communities and believe this tool will help us all better understand the current state of cancer in Maine.
